GarageFit Transparent calculations
How GarageFit calculates a garage fit.
Every result is an estimate based on the vehicle configuration and garage measurements shown. We publish our formulas, source links and limitations.
Vehicle data
We prioritize U.S. manufacturer specification pages, owner manuals, technical sheets and official brochures. Each vehicle page names the configuration, links to its source and shows when the data was last checked. Cab, bed, drivetrain, wheels, suspension, roof equipment and trim can change dimensions.
We do not estimate an unpublished mirror width. When the official source does not provide it, the calculator labels the opening result “body only” and asks the user to measure the mirrors.

“Comfortable,” “tight but usable” and “extremely tight” are GarageFit screening labels, not engineering or industry standards. A negative value in any measured direction is marked “doesn’t fit.” Very small entry, side, length or height clearances produce a tighter label. If mirror width is unavailable, that uncertainty takes priority over a comfort label.
The calculator cannot see slopes, door tracks, posts, cabinets, wheel stops, turning angle or driver skill. Always verify the actual vehicle and garage with a tape measure.
